This kit is a blow through Weber carb kit, it is not a turbo kit, but it allows you to use a carburetor induction system and "blow through" it with boost from a turbo or supercharger.

The blow through carb kit includes all new components, including a new Weber 32/36 carb, cast alloy turbo plenum, and complete high pressure fuel system.  

 

With the appropriate supporting mods (head porting, intercooler, non restrictive exhaust), this kit will support up to 250hp (186kW) - Possibly more depending on how far you want to push it.

 

This is a bolt on kit, the carb will be roughly jetted to suit your engine, which will get you up and running before fine tuning to suit your engine setup.

 

As the 2 litre Pinto engines were often originally fitted with Weber DGAV or similar 2 barrel Weber carbs from the factory, the newly supplied Weber carb will be a direct replacement for the original carb, so an adaptor plate will not be required.  This reduces the kit price by about $60.  However for Kent engines (and lower spec Pintos) that were originally fitted with a single barrel down draught carb, an adaptor plate is needed to fit the Weber DGV carb.  Alternatively, you can source a 2 barrel DGV carb intake manifold to suit your engine, such at the GT intake manifolds for Kent cross flow engines.

CARB & INDUCTION SETUP

- New genuine Weber 32/36 DGV carb - modified for blow through use.

- New turbo plenum to suit Weber.

- New adaptor plate for Kent Crossflow to convert from single barrel carb to twin barrel Weber DGV carb.

The kit comes will all the little parts that are needed, like gaskets, hose clamps, studs, nuts and bolts, etc.  There is no fabrication necessary, it is truly a bolt on kit.  

 

 

CARB - New Weber 32/36 DGV

The carb is a brand new in the box Weber 32/36 DGV (manual choke option).  We specify our carbys to suit the rigors of blow through turbo use, and they perform very well.  We then further modify them for blow through turbo use as detailed below.  The Weber carb will be roughly jetted to suit the application, but as stated above, you will need to have your mixtures checked and adjusted, preferably on a dyno, before running the engine on boost and chasing horsepower.  We also offer cost effective jetting kits to fine tune the carb to suit your engine.

INDUCTION SYSTEM 

Compressed air from the turbo or super charger is directed to the Weber carby using an Engineered Performance DGV turbo plenum  These plenums are machined in-house to ensure an air tight seal under boost pressure, and are then fitted with a urethane seal between the top and bottom halves, and a nitrile rubber gasket between the plenum and carb.  For information on the K&N style turbo plenum, click here.

FUEL SYSTEM 

Our proven blow through FPR and a realistically sized fuel pump are supplied.  For info on fuel system requirements for a blow through turbo setup, and the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) used in this kit, check out Blow Through FPR here.

The kit is based on an external high pressure EFI pump and uses the FPR to bring the fuel pressure down to carb levels.  The EFI fuel pump supplied is based on the Bosch Motorsport external fuel pumps, and can supply enough fuel for a 250hp blow through carb setup.  If more fuel is needed, we can swap the pump to a 070 VL Turbo spec pump for the same price, which is capable of supporting over 350hp on turbo blow through carb setup.  A typical 1/4" (6.5mm) fuel return line is sufficient when using the 250hp pump, however a larger 5/16" (8.0mm) fuel return line will be needed for the larger 350hp pump. As the fuel pressure will be around 5-6psi when off boost, and anywhere up to about 25psi when boosted, high pressure hose is required.  Enough HP hose for fuel supply and return lines is supplied to plumb up the whole car, from the stock low pressure pump, to the high pressure pump, to FPR, filter, carb, etc.  All hose clamps, adaptors, EFI fuel filter and fittings are also supplied.
