the DYNO MULE story
For each of our web pages, we have a car that is the development test bed for the products we supply. This car is the "dyno mule". Its the car that does all the work on the dyno to show before and after power figures for out products.
The TurboEscort dyno mule is a 1979 Mk2 Escort. It's a factory 2 litre Pinto with 4 speed manual. The engine came fitted with Genie extractors, but the rest of the engine appears stock.

The Escort is a great base for our blow through Weber carb kits, as the 2 litre engines are factory fitted with the Weber 32/36DGAV carby, which is almost identical to the 32/36DGV carb we supply in our blow through carb kits for other vehicles. So turbo conversions on Escorts with pinto engines are more cost effective than a lot of other vehicles. But we also have twin carby kits and various other products to offer for pinto engines, as well as the earlier cross flow Kent engines.
Step one is to put our stock Escort on the dyno, and see what the base figures are.
