Blow Through Carby Kit

This kit is a blow through carby kit, it is not a turbo kit, but it allows you to use a carby induction system and "blow through" it with boost from a turbo or supercharger.

The blow through carby kit includes all new components, including a new Weber 32/36 carby and complete high pressure fuel system.  

 

With the appropriate supporting mods (head porting, intercooler, non restrictive exhaust), this kit will support up to 250hp (186kW) - Possibly more depending on how far you want to push it.

 

The kit was originally designed for Isuzu G series engines (G161, G180, G200) as fitted to Gemini, Rodeo and Jackeroo, however it will suit any engine that you can bolt the Weber carby to.  Different adaptor plates are available for different engines.  Typical vehicles include the Ford Escort and Cortina, Datsun 1600, Toyota Corolla, etc.

 

This is a complete bolt on kit designed to include every component required to install the carby and fuel system to the engine.  This is a kit designed to bolt on and then run the engine, the carby will be roughly jetted to suit your engine, which will get you up and running before fine tuning to suit your engine setup.

 

As the Pinto engines were often originally fitted with Weber DGV or similar 2 barrel Weber carbs from the factory, the newly supplied Weber carb will be a direct replacement for the original carb.  However for Kent engines (and lower spec Pintos) that were originally fitted with a single barrel down draught carb, an adaptor plate, throttle linkage and acc cable bracket will be required.  Alternatively, you can source a 2 barrel DGV carb intake manifold to suit your engine.

The kit comes will all the little parts that are needed, like gaskets, hose clamps, studs, nuts and bolts, etc.  There is no fabrication necessary, it is truly a bolt on kit.  

 

 

CARBY - New Weber 32/36 DGV

The carby is a brand new in the box Weber 32/36 DGV (manual choke option).  We specify our carbys to suit the rigors of blow through turbo use, and they perform very well.  We then further modify them for blow through turbo use.  The Weber will be roughly jetted to suit the application, but as stated above, you will need to have your mixtures checked and adjusted, preferably on a dyno, before chasing horsepower.

INDUCTION SYSTEM 

Compressed air from the turbo or super charger is directed to the Weber carby using a K&N style turbo plenum.  For information on the K&N style turbo plenum, click here.

FUEL SYSTEM

The kit is based on an external high pressure EFI pump, which uses the FPR to bring the fuel pressure down to carby levels.  The EFI fuel pump supplied is based on the Bosch Motorsport external fuel pumps, and can supply enough fuel for a 250hp blow through carb setup.  If more fuel is needed, we can swap the pump to a 070 VL Turbo spec pump for the same price, which is capable of supporting over 350hp on turbo blow through carb setup.  However a larger 5/16" fuel return line will be needed for the larger pump. As the fuel pressure will be around 5-6psi when off boost, and anywhere up to about 25psi when boosted, high pressure EFI spec hose is required.  Enough EFI hose and low pressure hose (for fuel return lines) is supplied to plumb up the whole car, from the electric in-tank pump, to the engine bay.  All hose clamps, adaptors, EFI fuel filter and fittings are also supplied.
